URINARY TRACT INFECTION (UTI) TREATMENT

UTIs are infections caused by unwelcome bacteria colonizing the lower urinary tract (urethra and bladder). If left untreated, the bacteria can ascend to the kidneys, where an infection can become far more dangerous.

UTI Symptoms

Pain or burning sensation with urination.
Frequent or urgent urination.
Tenderness above the pubic bone.

You qualify for this treatment if…

  • Your sex assigned at birth was female and you are having UTI symptoms.
  • You are NOT pregnant.
  • You do NOT have abdominal pain.
  • You are NOT having any symptoms of STI/STD infection (pain, sores, other abnormal discharge).
  • We are unable to treat male UTI patients through Virtual Visit.

What to expect from your Virtual Visit

Your Provider will determine which (if any) UTI treatment is medically appropriate for you based on your symptoms and health history.

Medications typically prescribed

  • Fosfomycin (Monurol)
  • Nitrofurantoin (Macrobid)
  • Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim)
