What to expect from your Virtual Visit
Cough, cold, and flu treatment may include over-the-counter recommendations, online prescriptions, and self-care strategies. When medically appropriate, your clinician may prescribe an antiviral flu medication like oseltamivir (Tamiflu), COVID-19 medication like Paxlovid, or strep throat medication like antibiotics, however, these are NOT guaranteed.
In many cases, your Provider will recommend over-the-counter cold treatments for symptom relief as the common cold is a self-limited virus that will resolve without prescription cold medicine.

Medications typically prescribed
- Oseltamivir (Tamiflu)
- Paxlovid (Positive Covid-19 Test Required)
- Antibiotics*
*If your symptoms indicate a bacterial infection, your Provider may prescribe antibiotics. It is important to know, however, that most upper respiratory infections (URIs) are caused by viruses. Antibiotics do NOT alter the course of viruses. The inappropriate use of antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance, which causes bacteria to evolve and become harder to treat.
